Potato Chip Sundays

it ws time to start going through my mom's house and clean it out. Most things were headed for the garage sale. Then we opened the cupboard and there were the 4 aluminum bowls. The memories of Sunday night after church came flooding back. The 4 of us, Mom, Dad, Sister and me, would get a bottle of pop and our favorite color of bowl to eat our Jones potato chips. That was our treat for the week. We munched and laughed at The Ed Sullivan Show.
Ok Mom, put those on the garage sale pile. NO! I JUST CAN NOT PART WITH THESE. But Mom, Peter on Clean Sweep says to keep the memories, but get rid of the stuff.

But they make me remember.Without seeing these bowls I had forgotten. Now we drink pop every day and I can have chips when ever I want. So I had no remebered the time when that was a treat.

How many things in our lives have we forgotten? Our lives are so full that we forget those things that have influenced our lives, physically and spiritally. WE need sign posts or aluminum bowls to remind us of the blessings of the past and of how far we have come in our walk as a Christian. So keep a list of answered prayer and yes I am keeping those bowls. I just might want to make some memories with my great nephews or grandkids if I am ever blessed with them.
